The Mac solenoids, specifically, have a stroke of 0.14", a patented oval-shaped armature that allows for more coils of wire than are found in a typical round armature, strong return springs, and dynamic, case-hardened D seals rather than standard O-rings. Mac also uses a 4-way pilot valve instead of a 3-way pilot in order to improve response time.
